Literature is a written works like poems, plays, novels, short stories, legends, fables, essay also books, articles and news.

Philippine literature is a literature associated with the Philippine from our past or ancestors, up to now, and most of these works was written during the Spanish period. We got to know this different literature because it was passed on from generation to generation or they were able to keep a copy of their works and also it was passed originally through an oral tradition. Literature helps us to appreciate our literary heritage by reading or studying our literature, we can see our rich heritage of ideas and information given down to us from our great ancestors, and also it gives or helps us to understand where we came from and we take a pride and to be proud in being a Filipino, That we are a Filipino, I am a Filipino.

Sometimes what a writer or an author writes deals with the problems of our society. Our writers and their works contributed a lot to us and also in our Philippine literature, because there is a possibility that we will not know what has happened to us before. We don't know what to believe if our writers didn't wrote something about our Philippine history.

Philippine literature is one of the key, a weapon that they used to attacked those who colonized us and made us free, for us to achieve freedom. The advantage of being colonized by other countries is that we are able to write with several languages. Writers today deals with the importance of every history or those what happens in their surroundings.

We should not forget our Philippine literature. We should not forget what our great ancestors left us. Because this literature serves as a treasure. A treasure that you should care and keep in your heart forever.

We should appreciate and be proud of the works of our writers because they ring us pride. They bring pride to the Philippine literature and they contributed in preserving and maintaining for the improvement of our favorable Philippine literature.
