Dear Ms. Fantauzzo,

Greetings!

You wrote the essay, In Manila, Two Seasons, No Regrets which presents experience in Manila. I've already read it, and I really appreciate it because I have been in that same one-sided-love boat as you were in that essay and somehow, I felt your pain.

The lesson that I learned in your essay is that there is no such thing as choice when it comes to love. You cannot choose who you fall in love with, if your heart starts to beat for someone, you just can’t help it. You must follow it, but if he/she rejects you because of some personal reasons, we must let go. It will take time to heal but I assure you that it will be worth it. It will leave a scar but that scar will not only remind you of the love you had for that person before, but also symbolize that you have already moved on, and had survived the struggle.

I may not be a lesbian but I know that having such gender preference is not that easy. I'm sorry because I am not in favor of same-sex relationship. However, this is just my opinion and I mean no offense. I am just not yet ready to accept same-sex relationships.

Despite this, you're a good writer, and I liked your essay. It gives inspiration and hope to others. And I’d like to give my kudos to you for standing up for who you are.

Sincerely yours,

Prinzelle Batuac
